Caring for you and your baby

Pregnancy is an exciting time in your life, and it’s important to make sure you’re receiving the best possible pregnancy care for yourself and your growing baby.

We recommend you make an appointment a few months prior to embarking on a planned pregnancy, so we can make sure you’re in top condition, and can advise you on some precautions to help avoid problems for yourself or your baby.

Some of our doctors are accredited for Antenatal Shared Care and have a post-graduate Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. They have delivered many babies in the past when GPs had access to the Obstetrics Ward at the hospital.

Nowadays, our doctors share the antenatal care with hospital clinics, and are available for your 6-week post-natal check as well as any other concerns you may have about your baby or yourself. This is a part of general practice that our doctors really enjoy.

We also provide immunisations for your baby and child at every age stage, as well as immunisations for mothers and family members during pregnancy. We usually recommend immunisations against Whooping Cough and Influenza where appropriate.
